Vogue Knitting Early Fall Preview

It’s that time of year, when the knitting magazines are starting to show sneak peeks of their soon-to-be-released Fall issues! And while we are in no rush to get to the cooler weather (let us enjoy just a few scorcher days before the leaves fall- Mmm-Kay?), we certainly do find ourselves getting pretty excited over some of the new patterns coming down the pipes!

We were recently exploring the Vogue Knitting website, and they had previews for their upcoming Early Fall issue, due out at the beginning of July. And we must say… they hit it out of the park with this issue. We love it! Almost ALL of it! Which is rare in the world of knitting magazines… To love almost everything from cover to cover????

Two garments jumped out at us not only because of their versatility, attention to detail and gorgeous designs, but also because they were knit using Cascade Yarns!

The first sweater is a richly textured design by Deborah Newton called ‘Crew Neck Pullover’. Knit out of Cascade Longwood, this yarn is perfect for textured patterns such as this one. The stitch definition just pops, which is exactly what you’ll be looking for! With chevrons on the front, ribbing up the back, and a contrasting texture up the sleeves, you will want  to use a tightly twisted yarn like Longwood to make those stitches sing.

And for those of you who prefer cardigans, you really can’t go wrong with this classic. Designed by Rosemary Drysdale, this cardigan with ribbed detailing can easily be worn all year round. Knit using Cascade Venezia, a beautiful blend of 70% Merino and 30% Silk, this cardigan will drape like a dream.

Throw this cardi over a sun-dress, or throw it over a pair of jeans… this is a sweater that will never have a chance to be put away! You will be wanting to wear it day after day after day…

And while you’re there… be sure to check out all of the other fantastic designs from this upcoming issue!

Brace yourself for some inspiration overload…

We suspect that you will be heading to your LYS and casting on something new in the very near future.

Happy knitting everyone!
