Constellation Shawl- Free Pattern by Shannon Charles for Estelle Yarns

With new seasons, and new yarns, comes new knitting patterns, and we are thrilled to be able to share one of our latest FREE Estelle Patterns with you today!

Shannon Charles is the newest member to the Estelle Yarns Design team, and she has produced some fun to knit and easy to wear items for our Fall line up of Free Patterns. While we have yet to release the full collection on our website, we thought that we would give you all a preview of what’s to come from Shannon, and our other talented designers in the coming weeks.

Shannon’s design Constellation Shawl is knit using four skeins of Estelle’s Alpaca Merino Chunky, or Estelle Chunky– both yarns we have discussed on the blog recently! To read our past posts about these two yarns, please click here and here. Knit on a 6mm needle, this shawl will knit up fairly quickly for any knitter who feels as though they have moved beyond the ‘beginner’ phase of their knitting career.

Accessories are always a great way to practice using new knitting techniques, and this project is no exception! Utilising short rows to achieve the eight wedges that make up this shawl, this project is perfect for the ‘early-intermediate knitter’, who may be looking to try their hand at short rows for the first time. Unlike a garment that must ‘fit’ one’s body, this shawl is a great way to focus on the technique, which will leave you feeling confident in your skills the next time you encounter short rows being used in a pattern.

To get your hands on a copy of the Constellation Shawl, please click the link to download your PDF copy today. And click here to view the full range of Estelle Alpaca Merino Chunky and Estelle Chunky shades.

Should you find yourself knitting a Constellation Shawl, be sure to share your photos with us, either by email, or on Ravelry. We absolutely love seeing your work, so don’t be shy!

Happy knitting everyone!
