New Colours From King Cole

Spring is FINALLY here, and King Cole has launched some new shades in a couple of their most popular yarns, as a way to welcome the new season. Known for their classic yarns, ease of care and great price points, King Cole is a company that is well known across the global knitting and crocheting community.

First up- Drifter Chunky is a gorgeous and soft, self-striping yarn. Composed of 25% Cotton, 6% Wool and 69% Premium Acrylic, it is warm, breathable, and easy to care for. Great for kids, adults, accessories and home decor, this yarn knits up quickly- and not just because of it’s chunky weight! The self-striping quality makes knitters and crocheters alike work it up fast, mainly due to the excitement of ‘what will the next stripe look like?’ (Sounds completely crazy, until you actually work with self-striping yarn… it is absolutely addictive!)

With Drifter Chunky’s four new shades all having been named after much warmer places than where we currently are, you will certainly want to get your hands on some of these sooner, rather than later. We suspect that even the mere suggestion of a warmer climate, may just be the trick to thaw you right out.

From top left, clockwise: Lisbon, Miami, Kuala Lumpur and Naples, each of these new shades consists of warm reds, oranges or pinks, that all remind us of warmer days ahead.

The next yarn to find it’s colour family expanding is a  staple in so many local yarn storesKing Cole Fashion Aran. This yarn can be knit at  either a worsted or an aran gauge. This ‘go-to’ yarn is composed of 75% Acrylic, 25% Wool, and is easily washable, and fantastic for kids and adults alike. With some classic tweed options, tasteful solids, and vivid, bold brights, this already vast colour family has grown by another four members!

With all of the new shades being of the tweed variety, King Cole Fashion Aran now includes (starting top left, and going clockwiseEucalyptus, Ginger, Pink and Mustard. These four new colours would be perfect in a cheerful afghan, striped cardigan or bold cabled pullover. Just think of the fun buttons that could be paired with some of these new colours!
