Knit The Knitterati Squares With Marsha Block 3

We are having an absolute blast working on the lapghan squares for the Cascade Knitterati Knit Along! If you haven’t signed up yet, what are you waiting for? All you need to do is register here to receive the patterns that are released via email every three weeks. If you are already signed up and are participating in this KAL, send your pictures to cascadegradientlapghan@estelledesigns.ca and let us share your talent with our readers.

Marsha cruised through the last pattern square, in fact she was finished this one a few short days after it’s release! Here is the finished square after blocking. In case you’re wondering how Marsha goes about blocking her squares so nicely, she swears by pinning the square out to the finished measurements, and then spritzing with water and allowing it to air dry.

Diamond cables with just a hint of texture made this block an addictive knit, so finishing it in just a few days was an easily attainable feat. What wasn’t easy was waiting for the next pattern installment! Alas, the third block was released yesterday, and enthusiastic knitters need not wait any longer to cast on.

Block number three features a slip stitch border set on a stocking stitch back ground, with a regal crown of bobbles as the focal point. What a perfect way to try your hand at some new and different stitches than in a small project like a lapghan square?

Here’s what Marsha has to say about knitting the third square: “A fun knit filled with slipped stitches and bobbles, never a dull moment! Admittedly I had to rip out a couple of rows when the Lost In Space episodes were a bit too intense for my concentration to be split between the knitting and the show.”

Marsha is not only loving the Knit Along, she tells us she has fallen for Cascade 220 Superwash Merino as well! Amazingly soft, incredible stitch definition and washability are the top three comments we hear consistently about Cascade 220 Superwash Merino. It’s no wonder it’s one of the top selling yarns on the market!

We would love to hear your comments about Cascade 220 Superwash Merino, see your colour selections, and see your photos of your squares. Don’t forget to send your pictures to cascadegradientlapghan@estelledesigns.ca

Happy knitting and crocheting everyone!
