Alpaca Chevron Baby Blanket

A friend of mine has a niece that is scheduled to land here on earth any day now. And she, like all good knitters do, dug out her knitting needles as soon as she heard the good news.

She wanted something warm, something cozy, something that the babe could grow up with and cherish forever. Especially since this baby is on the other side of the ocean from her dear aunt!

Which brings us to… this stunning blanket!

Knit using the Purl Soho’s Chevron Baby Blanket Pattern, and several skeins of Estelle’s Alpaca 60, this baby has landed herself with an heirloom, indeed. My knitting friend used Winter White as her primary colour, with Turquoise, Charcoal Heather and Black as her secondary colours. What a beautiful combination!

Fortunately, ‘Mom & Dad’ are good about hand washing, and look forward to keeping their dear babe warm with this snuggly blanket, on their brisk Winter walks.

Since the distance between “Auntie and Baby” is vast, this seems like the next best thing to a hug. Don’t you agree?

What an incredibly lucky baby!
