Knitted Knockers of Canada

If you are a knitter who likes to knit for others, or perhaps who likes to punctuate some of your larger knitting projects with a few smaller ones, then we have a very worthy project (and cause!) that you might want to consider getting involved in.

‘Knitted Knockers of Canada’ is an organization that provides handmade breast prosthesis for women who have undergone mastectomies, or other procedures to the breast. These prostheses are available for free to anyone who needs one, and are lovingly knit by wonderful volunteers from across the country.

The suggested yarn is Cascade Ultra Pima, which is widely available in yarn shops across the country. Pima cotton is soft, washable, breathable, and one skein will make several Knitted Knockers, depending on the sizes you decide to make.
