It is that time of year when deciding on what to wear is anyone’s guess. Is it going to get cold? Is it going to rain? Is the temperature going to drop below zero? Is it going to be a high of 15? No one knows! Not even the weather man… So the best way to cope with Mother Nature’s moods, is simply to layer up.
Which brings us to… these beautiful fingerless mitts.
Layer them under a pair of mittens (if you feel the need), or wear them on their own. Whichever way you slice it, these fingerless mitts will be fun to knit, and useful to have stashed in your purse for those moments when Mother Nature decides to give us the cold shoulder.
Should you feel so inclined, there is also a hat to match! We blogged about it here, so be sure to have a look!
This pattern is available for free, courtesy of Manos Del Uruguay. It uses only one skein of their luxurious yarn ‘Fino’– a fine blend of 70% merino, 30% silk. A blend that is a pleasure to both knit- and wear!

So stay warm dear knitters!
And enjoy your weekend filled with (hopefully!) lots of time to knit.
