We love it when a yarn company takes a theme and runs with it. Especially when that theme is the beautiful country of Italy! King Cole has just recently launched their “Italian Collection” for Fall 2015, and we are certain that you won’t be disappointed!
Three beautiful yarns named after three beautiful cities make up this collection, and each yarn is an instant classic.
And what’s more? Each one of these yarns is made right in Italy. Besides, it would be cheating to call this the “Italian Collection”, and have it made elsewhere. Wouldn’t you agree? Especially a country as rich in textile history such as Italy!
So without further ado, we introduce you to this star-studded line up.
First up- Venice Chunky. This yarn is simply beautiful, with a dash of alpaca, a splash of wool and the rest synthetic. Venice Chunky is easy to care for, and soft to both knit, and wear. The colour range is earthy and rich yet subtle- so inviting for Fall weather!
Next in the line-up is Verona Chunky, which is much softer in it’s palette and has a thick and thin texture running throughout. The softer colours make it a beautiful yarn for cables and stitch patterning. The thick and thin quality adds another element of texture that would be just as stunning in plain stocking stitch, as it would be cabled. See the two patterns for Verona Chunky pictured below to see what we mean!
And the last, but not least is Florence Chunky. With a dark, neutral palette, each colourway has a solid base colour, with multi-coloured runs flecked throughout. These small bursts of contrast colours are spun right into the yarn, so the knitter will find themselves with short bursts of colour throughout their garment. While the sweaters shown below give us an idea of how the yarn will knit up, we can’t help but think that Florence Chunky would also look fantastic as winter accessories! Did someone say matching mitten and hat set?
So be sure to explore these three yarns on our site, and ask at your local yarn shop when these yarns are due to arrive in their store. As always, King Cole has pattern leaflets available for each of these yarns, with not only one pattern per leaflet… but two! Not too shabby if you ask us!
Happy knitting everyone!
