You likely know, just as well as well as we do, just how gorgeous Manos del Uruguay’s Alegria yarn is. Most commonly used for knitting socks, this yarn is durable, washable, saturated with colour and of course, ultra soft. While many of us use it for so much more than just knitting socks (did someone say shawl? Or baby sweater?), sometimes the fingering weight thickness of it can deter us from getting too ambitious with larger projects.
Well… we come to you with some VERY good news! Manos Alegria is now available in a worsted weight! Alegria Grande is the same sought after 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Polymide blend, only thicker. With 180 meters per 100 gram skein, a single skein will easily knit up a hat, a pair of mittens, a baby sweater or snug cowl.
Currently available in 28 rich shades, there are tonals for those of us who prefer the more subdued, and variegated for those who like to make a statement.
This yarn will be available in your local yarn shop sometime in mid-late May, so be sure to ask your local yarn shop owner to put your name a skein (or three!) once it rolls in.

Happy knitting and crocheting everyone!
