Environment + Impact (English)

Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the leading textile processing standard for organic fibres. GOTS ensures traceability and accountability in sourcing, processing, and distribution. It guarantees products are made from responsibly sourced natural fibres and are free from harmful chemicals, promoting a healthier planet and safeguarding workers and animals.

We proudly offer five GOTS-certified Estelle lines and twenty-one GOTS-certified yarns, including BC Garn, Etrofil, and Hey Mama Wolf products. From the raw fibre to the finished product, GOTS certification ensures strict environmental and social criteria, covering everything from energy and water management to fair wages and labour conditions. By supplying GOTS-certified textiles, we aim to promote sustainable agriculture, reduce our environmental impact, and support fair practices in all stages of the textile industry.

Estelle received its first GOTS Scope Certificate in October 2018, and we participate in annual audits for certificate renewal.
Our current scope certificate can be found here.

Estelle’s Environmental Sustainability Practices

We are dedicated to reducing our environmental footprint through thoughtful, sustainable practices;

We prioritize reusing materials, including packing supplies, to minimize waste.

Our packing filler is biodegradable. It dissolves in water, and leaves no toxic waste.

Recycling is an integral part of our daily operations, ensuring that we reduce our contribution to landfills.

Our workspace is scent-free. We ask that visitors to our office  also refrain from wearing scented products.

We aim to use eco-friendly cleaning products whenever possible to minimize the impact on indoor air quality and the planet.

In the coming years, we hope to explore effective ways to further minimize our environmental impact, and further support slow fashion practices.
